Describe your premises
cellar bar and restaurant located in a small arcade below a hotel, opposite a train station/tram stop
What type of terrorist attack is likely to occur at the premises?
yes-Bomb (potential evac due to transport hub), knife attack, fire
Have you identified relevant workers who must receive terrorism protection training and ensured it is provided to them?
all training is kept on the mable training platform. managers/supervisors have a more indepth course to complete compared to general staff. i have completed training with the local BID and police, operation griffin.
There is always a supervisor/manager on duty.
Who will put the plan into action in the event of an incident? How is the plan and relevant information being communicated to workers at the premises?
Manager on shift will take the decision. if incapacitated a supervisor or team coach would step up, and we also have onsite security that could assist
Task 1 – Plan to warn people on the premises than an attack is taking place
we have no tannoy system, so would communicate with the staff and guests calmly, advising them as to what next steps we have planned and what we are currently doing to ensure their safety.
move them away from the main entrance torwards the restaurant area, where it has multiple escape routes if main entrance is breached.
we have an intruder alarm, with a panic button located in the office.
Task 2 – Plan to lockdown your premises
main doors to burlington arcade can be locked by the security.
our main door has to be shut, with all other doors being fire exits, so no access available unless they are broken down.
guests would be moved towards the restaurant area, which has multiple exit routes, and cannot be seen from main entrance.
supervisors and managers would direct staff to assist guests.
would talk calmly to the guests, ensure they are kept informed of the situation and try to keep them calm.
Task 3 – Plan to evacuate the premises
we evacuate quite often due to the centre fire alarm, so the staff are well versed in the evacuation procedure.
Staff would be stood by the exit shouting 'this way please' and advising the guests of the route out. the manager on duty would have evac pack and ensure site is empty and secure when leaving, checking toilets and ensuring all staff are accounted for.
guests would be advised of the muster point and asked to remain there. this is located on new street, with the burlington hotel staff who liase with security and act as centre fire marshal
Task 4 - Plan to call the emergency services and relay the necessary information
as a cellar bar, we have no phone signal, all staff know to dial 9 first before any number can be dialled.
Generally manager on shift is their responsibility to dial, or advise staff member if hands are busy.

Task 5 – Use available first aid and fire safety equipment
we have standard first aid kits with no trauma kits available.
all equipment is in date and any fire equip is checjed annually and also fixed reactively
all dates of refresher training are available on mable.
Task 6 – Consider how you tell your neighbours or local network aware of your plan and alert them in an attack
no communication has taken place with neighbours, but the security in burlington arcade acts as liason between sites when we evacuate.
maybe we consider a phone list of adjacent business and venues to assist in communication in case of an incident
