Your Plan

Danni restaurant – 26/09/2023

Location: Danni restaurant

Completed by: Danielle Grant

Describe your premises

We are a small family run restaurant. We provide lunch and dinner services at this location. We are open from 1200 - 1030 pm Wed - Sun. Closed Mon/Tue. We have a front entrance, and a rear exit which gives access to a closed service area where refuse is kept. We have 26 tables and have capacity of 110 people.

What type of terrorist attack is likely to occur at the premises?

I have completed vulnerability assessment. The results were that we are vulnerable to guns.

Have you identified relevant workers who must receive terrorism protection training and ensured it is provided to them?

I have 6 staff who work at this location. They have all completed ACT awareness Elearning, This has been completed in August 2023 when the restaurant was closed for refurbishment. I have note of the completion of this training and printed copies which is kept in the managers office in an A4 folder.

Who will put the plan into action in the event of an incident? How is the plan and relevant information being communicated to workers at the premises?

If an attack takes place then myself as the owner, or in my absence my manager Julian.

Task 1 – Plan to warn people on the premises than an attack is taking place

The premises are small so I would shout instruction to staff and guests. We have no tannoy system. I will say - this is an emergency.....and then tell them to either leave the premises, or take cover. There is an alarm on the premises but it is not linked to a control room or police.

Task 2 – Plan to lockdown your premises

I do not have a lockdown procedure but both entrance and exit can be shut and bolted. I have talked to all staff and we have practised how to do this. The premises are small and we do not have an additional space, but some shelter within the managers office could be used, or the kitchen space. I have written a note for all staff on what to do if we enter a lockdown - and will talk about this at the next staff meeting.

Task 3 – Plan to evacuate the premises

We do not have a formal evacuation plan - just to leave the building if there is danger. I will now write instructions on what to do and where to go for all of my staff. I will raise this issue at the next business forum.

Task 4 - Plan to call the emergency services and relay the necessary information

I would expect staff to know how to contact the police, but will share and discuss at our next team meeting.. I have read the document which says you should give clear and concise instructions to the police.

Task 5 – Use available first aid and fire safety equipment

We have a first aid kit but this is for the kitchen staff. I have ordered a PACT kit and will ensure staff know what to do. My staff, as part of working in catering have first aid skills and knowledge. I will keep a training record of what training is delivered, and why whom.

Task 6 – Consider how you tell your neighbours or local network aware of your plan and alert them in an attack

I will raise this at the next business forum,

What next?

This is the plan you created for Danni restaurant – 26/09/2023. Once you have reviewed it, you should move on to step 4.
